On the Esoteric Path
Wali Ali Meyer
We will focus on the teachings of the Esoteric School, including concentration, meditation, and contemplation, teachings on the various wazifahs and their healing effects, as well as practice with walks and attunements to the illuminated souls.
Also a main part of my agenda in the class will be highlighting different events and challenges in Murshid Samuel Lewis’ life and showing their relevance to our spiritual unfoldment. Questions about his life will be encouraged here and discussion will be a welcome part of our teachings on the inner practices of Sufism.

DEVOTION: Serving Universal Peace
“By devotion, heaven is brought to earth.” Sufi Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan
In these challenging times, the spirit of devotion is one key to maintaining qualities of heart. “God-as-love” is a theme uniting those of various religions. For the Sufi, the abode of God is the human heart when, according to Inayat Khan, “it is awakened to sympathy, to love, to devotion…”. Throughout the week, we will explore ways in which the universe worships… through concentration, meditation, contemplation, Zikr/remembrance, Dances of Universal Peace, Sacred Walking Meditations, Wazaif, worship, sacred texts, dialogue and sohbet, culminating with the Service of Universal Peace/Universal Worship. Everyone is welcome.
SUFI THEATRE PROJECT: Stories from the Path
Khadija Goforth, Amina Emma Durbin, Gayatri Kira Kull
“When we trace the origin of dramatic plays back to the Sanskrit age, we find that religious ceremonies and rituals first took place in order to give human beings the impression which they needed for their development; to console them, to bless them, to reveal the truth gradually to them. Everything that was necessary for their development was given to them in the form of ceremonies or rituals.” Sufi Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan.
What universal stories arise on our spiritual journey? How do we share our experience to benefit all? Throughout the week, participants will develop various themes to be presented to the entire camp on Saturday evening. Murshida Khadija will be joined by young adult mentees Gayatri Kira Kull, New York, NY and Amina Emma Durbin, Chicago, IL. Everyone is welcome; no previous theatrical experience is necessary.

Healing on the Spiritual Plane
There is physical healing as through drugs, surgery and manipulation, and there is healing on the mental plane such as dealing with acquired childhood behaviors needed to survive in dysfunctional families, which then prove to be ineffective and inappropriate in the adult world. And then there is healing on the spiritual plane, a resource acquired by creating an accommodation for receiving additional healing grace from the Divine by specifically invoking this presence into one’s life. In the DHO we refer to this grace as the Shafiya. During this class we will learn ways to invite this essence into our beings and into others who have asked for its enhanced presence in their lives. The class will focus on developing specific energetic tools and on the Absent Healing Ritual of Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Fana fi Gaia – Dissolving Separation through Union with Sacred Mother Earth
We will fully resonate our bodies with selected qualities through a traditional process of wazifah practice, then return each day for deepening connection with an individually selected spot.
You are invited to a new daily lunchtime offering of Sheikha’s Sobhet! Everyone is welcome to share lunch with Sheikha Arifa Byron, who will be answering questions, inviting inquiry, and sowing seeds of curiosity as we journey together through the experience of camp, and share our varied experiences of walking on a spiritual path. Whether a new comer or a long timer, bring your questions and reflections to these daily conversations!
Return To The Heart Of Your Soul
We will focus on starting the day with grounding the exhilaration of life and how to balance the two in manifestation of the One. Deepening of practices, singing, movement and experiential heart opening. “Spiritual progress is the changing of the point of view.” HIK
